Look, I have worked in Public Safety for 26 years and there are plenty of "worse case scenario" to go around. Facts are facts though.
Us Americans are resilient but have a difficult time dealing with anything not "normal day-to-day."
"Prepare for the worst and hope for the best."
That is why we have the Marines!!!
